This is my small and humble offering to the happy birthday boy, bazookkajoe who's turning 21 today and that's a reason to celebrate!

My little contribution for 21 for 21: Sneaky Rachel made us all join her conspiracy. All the best to you, Joe! May you have the most wonderful of days and enjoy as much Matt/Julie goodness and cake as one can stomach. (Which to be honest, is a whole lot.)

I started writing this story from one specific idea and I left it at a certain point cause I had a deadline. I don't think it's finished yet though. So this may just be the first part of a longer arc. Enjoy!

Well, I guess it's kind of a 'verse when you have ROLEPLAYING of the characters in that setting in your head ALL DAY and you've already written more fic about the scenario in 3 weeks than you have written in the last year or so.

So I've been writing more FNL fic and I got two questions you American peeps might be able to help me out with:

1) Does one only get ONE championship ring? What happens if you win two championships? Two rings? Stick with the old one?

2) There's a graduation ceremony when you leave university, right? Where is such an event ususally held?

Also, it's time to pimp this wonderful show a little more folks! FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS is a gem, it's too good to stay on yadda yadda yadda. You all heard that before, right? So the ratings are a shame and the fandom is wonderful but way too small. Let's do something about that.

Because really, if that show gets cancelled, I'm gonna be in a sad, sad state.

So I tried to write more Matt/Julie (not that I had to try really hard) and what came out was the schmoopiest of all schmoop!fests. Honestly. I couldn't really help it but seeing how lj is so broken up (literally!) about Heath Ledger's tragic death and real life is a drag most of the time, I figured we could all use a little more escapism. For my brain that clearly means daddy!Matt fic and him getting laid ALL WRAPPED UP INTO ONE.

Ok, dear f-listers, for those of you who are in the Friday Night Lights fandom or just know more about highschool and small town living than a chick from Germany, could you maybe help me out with any of the following?

1) In the first season, is Julie a freshman or a sophomore? I watched a vid of Aimee Teegarden talking about her character saying she just started high school and I know she's 15 when the show starts but I'm wondering if she's in the same year as Matt and Landry and Smash? Cause I seem to remember an episode where she was in a class with Smash and Waverly - but then can you be a freshman and have some classes with sophomores and vice versa?

2) I googled gas stations in rural Texas and came up with 7 eleven. They sell gas too?

3) Can anyone point me to a site where I can get screen caps of FNL? Found one so far but they had only a few shots for each episode.

4) I've had brit-picking for my HP fics. Is there such a thing as Texan-pickers? *sighs*

5) Don't even get me started on the football and how confusing that is. I'm just glad I know my defense from my offense now. I think I've understood the general rules and got some of the lingo down but writing it? Anyone good at that? Lol. All we play is soccer over here.

Friday Night Lights has sucked me in. Watched the 1st season in 3 days and THIS SHOW IS KILLING ME. Argh. All this sincerity and then the characters are so real they break my heart.

Especially Matt Saracen. There are not enough words to express my love for that boy. *sigh*

It also caters very well to this teenage!akwardness kink of mine. The show is full to the brim of it! Exhibit A: Zach Gilford's face when he adjusts his crotch after Matt and Julie decide not to have sex. Priceless.

But: Where is all the fic? I found some great pieces but there is just not enough Matt making out with Julie! Or Matt making out with anyone! Or angsty Matt pieces. Seriously, where is all the good stuff?

This month I have strolled into two new fandoms, just because of amazing fic. Mainly, this is femmenerd's fault for writing and reccing the likes of it in her jorunal.

1)The first is SUPERNATURAL, for which I have developed an obsession only to match the one I hold for my boy Jack. Yes, I'm late for the party but remember I live on the other side of the pond and normally, I'm not into the scary!paranormal genre. But now I'm half way through the 2nd season.

So the guys are really hot. And manly. And hot. But this is not the main reason why I love this show so much. Ok, it is a reason but not the main one. The main one is they behave WONDERFULLY BOY-ISH. (Duh, you might say.) But then I tried to explain my fascination with this show to my best friend. I showed her some selected scenes to illustrate how funny and typically male those Winchester boys are (vids of DEAN DEVOURING EATING FOOD and the brothers engaging in MALE/BROTHER BANTER). And she didn't think it was funny/adorable/sexy as hell. How is that? I mean, yes it is a show about very pretty boys basically being boys (with drama I guess) but that is MY POINT EXACTLY.

It's amazing brainwashery. Apart from the demon hunting and the family drama and the supernatural things happening and of course the UNSPEAKABLE manpretty, they just seem so utterly convincing in their MALENESS. Like, the show is trying to make me believe that guys like that could REALLY BE OUT THERE.

Also, the fandom (at least, what I have seen of it so far) is amazing and vast and full of VERY TALENTED WRITERS. And although there is a lot of slash and WINCEST and whatnot, there is also TONS of amazing het. And no ship wars! And OFCs worth reading! It's hetfangirls galore. (Supernatural het mainly seems to be concerned with sexin' up the boys. Which really, is fine by me.)

Seriously, this last week I died and went to heaven while digging my way deeper into this fandom. I wish I could rec some stuff now, but that would like make this post explode but honestly, anything by femmenerd and vinylroad is a delight.


Boys being boys? Might just be my second biggest KINK ever, right after teenage awkwardness. Which is what made me love

2) FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. Haven't really watched any, just read these two fics "Restraint" and "Verboten" by svillficrecs and think I might be in love. It's all that TEENAGE AWKWARDNESS. Any recs for more fic jewels from that fandom?

Now I only have to find a way to watch this show online. Unfortunately I'm not a US resident and those vids at NBC won't work for me.
